The book No One Can Ever Steal Your Rainbow by Barbara Meislin is used for inspiration. The students create a “peace” mural by designing their own rainbow on 'puzzle pieces' and assembling into a class mural. Each student writes a wish for the world and the wishes then become part of the art.

Objectives and assessment criteria

Students will:

1. discuss a person’s uniqueness and share personal facts in class or small group.
2. discuss ideas of ways to help the world and write a personal wish.
3. listen to teacher read No One Can Ever Steal Your Rainbow and sing the Peace Song.
4. properly apply marker colors on their pieces of the class “Peace Mural”.
